Get ready for spring with The Thoreau Society and learn more about the late, great author Thoreau’s life, works, legacy and his place in his world and in ours! This presentation will focus on how Thoreau used his observations of patterns and phenomena in the landscapes around him to reflect upon the human condition. This presentation also addresses the political and cultural history of Henry Thoreau’s New England, with a focus on Concord’s early Black inhabitants.
